Winning Poker Network Updates: August 2021

Winning Poker Network underwent a major update on August 25, 2021. It is almost entirely dedicated to tournament players. In addition to the new multi-table SnGs, a major event, The Venom PKO $ 5M GTD, was announced.

Everything new is well-forgotten old

In most rooms, SNG tournaments are losing demand among players. Apparently, WPN thinks differently, which is why SNG tournaments for 27 and 180 people were announced. In fact, now such tournaments can only be played on PokerStars and GGpokerok (Battle Royal). What are the features of SNG on WPN:

  • Buy-ins – $5.5;
  • Tournaments have two types of blinds: either the turbo version for 5 minutes or regulars for 10 minutes;
  • Ante starts at level 1 with a starting stack of 75 blinds.

Tournaments for 27 players are already in the lobby, and the maximum version for 180 people will be added soon. Earlier in the rooms of the network there were already attempts to connect SNG tournaments – they were presented in the On Demand format, that is, with late registration. The competition itself began when 6-10 participants reached, and during late registration their number could increase to 100 people. There are 6 limits in total: from $ 0.5 to $ 20, including Omaha.

New Venom PKO $5M GTD

3 weeks before the start, a major tournament with a $ 5 million guarantee was announced. The buy-in to The Venom PKO $ 5M GTD is $ 2650.

The schedule as it follows:

  • Day 1A: Friday, 17 September.
  • Day 1B: Sunday, September 19.
  • Day 1С: Friday, September 24.
  • Day 1D: Sunday, September 26.
  • Day 2: Monday, September 27.
  • Day 3: Tuesday, September 28.
  • Final table: Wednesday, September 29.

The organisers decided not to change anything in the event, especially since the previous event set a world record. The Venom has the largest prize pool for a knockout tournament in the past. He made $ 7,160,000!

Satellites for the main event will start soon.

Ported updates

Players can take advantage of additional avatars, as well as look forward to additional updates that may be released soon. The innovations for cash players are likely to be released on September 30th.

In fast poker (Blitz Poker) it will be possible to play at incomplete tables. To do this, you will need to check the box in the settings.

Summary

Of course, WPN is unlikely to be able to compete with PokerStars in the SNG tournament bracket. No other room can offer such a wide range of tournaments as on PokerStars. Let’s see how the new format will be perceived by the players.

There is a chance that the popularity of WPN rooms will only grow, because these are the only rooms where US players can play with poker players from the CIS.

The Winner Network rooms also have generous conditions for players of different limits, and the high rakeback attracts both regs and amateur poker players.
